To treat European foulbrood (EFB), beekeepers have used a treatment involving canola oil saturated with tea tree, eucalyptus, and white camphor oils, placed on top of frames to control the diseaseAnother common treatment is an antibiotic, such as Terramycin. Always consult your local beekeeping association or experts before applying any treatment, as EFB is a serious disease requiring careful diagnosis and management to protect your colony.

Ingredients and Preparation 1 gallon canola oil, 200 ml tea tree oil, 200 ml eucalyptus oil, and 100 ml white camphor oil.
Application
  1. Mix the oils and saturate shop towels with the solution.
  2. Place the saturated towels on the top bars of the frames, centering them over the brood.
  3. Leave the treatment in the hive for about a week.
