Our mated queens are locally produced and will be available weekly starting mid-June. They will be marked for easy identification, and will come in a queen cage with 3-4 young attendant bees.

Our cost is $45 per mated queen.

We are enrolled in the Ontario Resistant Honey Bee Selection (ORHBS) program, meaning our breeder queens are carefully selected for hygienic behaviour and disease-resistance, utilizing the liquid nitrogen test (https://www.ontariobee.com/ORHBS). We also take great care in selecting hives (drone mothers) with desirable traits to surround and saturate our mating yard. In addition to hygienic behaviour, our breeding program selects for winter hardiness, calmness (“comb stability”), and gentle temperament. Each year, we infuse our breeding program with proven Ontario stock from some of the other excellent breeders in the ORHBS program.
